Come Back Stronger

It has been one year since I tore my meniscus and had knee surgery. Its been two weeks since I had a cyst removed from my right wrist. I am feeling kinda beat up! This is not how I imagined turning 53 years old! Time to get out of this funk I've been in. Time to stop feeling sorry for myself. Time to start training again and put action behind my dreams!!! It is time to get to a healthy weight as part of my come back stronger 2019. The truth to be told, the extra weight makes my body hurt and it doesn't need the added stress. It all goes together.

In one month, I will be headed to Ottawa for the MX Endurance training camp and to watch Super League Triathlon. I can not wait to see the Pro's and Age Groupers race in the different type of triathlon format!  I have signed up for the 5k at Super League. This will be my first challenge of 2019.

My training has been almost nonexistent and my only excuse is fear. I have been scared of hurting my knee again. I know to make my legs stronger and to get myself stronger, I have to train. And train I will!! After Ottawa, I have a Sprint Triathlon here in Georgia on September 8th. I will start swimming again in August once orthopedic releases  me. My longest race EVER will be the Middle Distance Duathlon at Challenge Daytona. I struggle in the water and I am not sure if I can be ready for the swim by December. But I will keep that option open.

I hope you will follow my journey as I train, race and share the experiences of this amazing sport! My grandbabies call me "YaYa" and I want to make them proud. I also want to show them that they are stronger than any injury or illness that they may battle. Thank You to my team, MX Endurance and my Coach Jenna-Caer, my mentors Tim Ford and Mike Robinson. Thank You to the Mob Boss, Noel Fenn for letting this Georgia newbie become part of Carbon Mafia.
